April Marcell

April Marcell is the CEO and founder of Gibson & White Pictures, Producer, Director, Playwright, Filmmaker with over 50 productions of plays, musicals, concerts, film and staged readings to include Black Cathy a film officially selected for the San Diego Black Film Festival, When Life Knocks You Down and The Way To A Man’s Heart. April has received The Nicole Kohn Film Award; The Evelyn Bradshaw Award for Excellence and The Pinnacle Award. Her film, No Weapon Shall Prosper, is being distributed both nationally and internationally by the Maverick Entertainment Group.

Her musical, The Call, which was performed at the Dumas Theater, had rave reviews. Her comedic short play, Out Of Gas was produced in conjunction with The Overnight Sensations event at Mill Mountain Theater, in Roanoke, Virginia as well as her play, Little Debbie & Coke. She was winner of the Oscar Micheaux Short Story Contest for South Dakota Flavor, which was made into a play and performed at the Dumas Theater. Her most recent musical stage play, God's Eye, will begin its run, December 2013. 

April is endeavoring to produce other films, Purpose and a children’s film, Poopie Jane, The Challenge expected to be released next spring.
